digitdia 4000 debug problem
can someone help me??
when I try to scan with my digitdia 4000 and cyberviewX_MS (version 1_18a) firmware 1_07 (latest version) I can only scan 1 or 2 slides before I get the error -
debug assertion failed!
program c:\windows\twain_32\cyberviewX_MS\pfsloader.exe
file : filetxt.cpp
line 267
I have tried everything to fix this but nothing works.....
any help would be greatly appreciated
many thanks
andrew

Re: digitdia 4000 debug problem
The CyberView Version is very new (I don't test this version yet) maybe you try a older version. You will find one here:
http://www.scanace.com/download/drv_ps3650.htm
Other common problems:
- are you using USB or Firewire? - try the other one?
- it is recommended to use the original cable
- if using USB don't use a Hub or Switch for that
- if using USB disconnect all other USB Devices?
- is software for other scanners especially flatbad scanners or mfc devices installed?

Re: digitdia 4000 debug problem
thanks joe
I have tried usb and firewire - no difference, and I have uninstalled the other scanner software/drivers and cleaned the registry before installing cyberview
what I have noticed this afternoon, is that it will work at a resolution of 1800dpi and 8bit colour depth but not >1800dpi or at 16bit colour depth, without crashing
the pc is fast/2GB ram, but it only seems to produce the error on the higher quality scans?
I'll try your older versions anyway - many thanks

Re: digitdia 4000 debug problem
What happens when you try 3600 dpi. It's the best resolution and is not much slower than 1800 dpi.
In the past there where several problems with lower resolutions especially 1200 and 1800 dpi, depending on various other settings (that means most time it works).
If that doesn't help you don't hesitate to contact the refelcta Support at mail@reflecta.de

Re: digitdia 4000 debug problem
thanks joe - but with cyberview 1.17 it sill has the debug error and crashes
I've also tried saving files as jpegs or tiffs - no difference; the crash seems to occur in between slide scans
it will work at 1800dpi, but not at higher resolutions such as 3600dpi
??
thanks again

Re: digitdia 4000 debug problem
What kind of PC do you have? CPU, Ram, Operating System?
Is there a Antivirus Software running. There are problems with older Versions of AntiVirus Software, especially Norton AntiVirus. Also I had several problems with Norton AntiVirus 2007, CyberView and Windows Vista.

Re: digitdia 4000 debug problem
Try to stop Firewall and AntiVirus. But as far as I know there are no Problems with kaspersky. I don't know the firewall.
Is there enough space on the drive on which you save the scan files?

Re: digitdia 4000 debug problem
joe - you've fixed it!
lots of drive space >160gB
but it was the firewall and AV that were causing the problem
all works now
many thanks
