Problem solved. Nikon Scan doesn't accept monitor ICC profiles created with ColorEyes Display Pro. If I switch to any other monitor profile (for example the ICC profile provided by the builder of my display - which is enough for viewing the preview), there's no problem.

I know it's hard to believe but I just read somewhere that after a power off / power on of the Proscan, the problem might disappear.
